Senior Accountant (Albanian Residents Only)

About the role

ECOVIS Albania, part of ECOVIS International, a multidisciplinary network of accountants, business and tax advisors, auditors and lawyers, is adding a Senior Accountant to its Accounting & Tax team in Tirana. The role suits an experienced accounting professional who manages client work independently, delivers high-quality compliance work and helps develop junior team members. It is open to Albanian residents only.

Key responsibilities

• Manage accounting and tax compliance for a portfolio of local and international clients
• Prepare and review bookkeeping, VAT books, payroll inputs, withholding tax, reconciliations and monthly closings
• Prepare financial statements, tax returns and management reports
• Track client deadlines and ensure all filings are submitted on time
• Resolve routine accounting and tax queries and escalate technical matters to Managers or Partners
• Build strong client relationships through clear, practical support
• Mentor and review the work of junior accountants and interns

Required profile

• Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related field
• At least 3+ years in accounting, tax compliance or financial reporting; professional services experience is a plus
• Strong knowledge of Albanian accounting, tax and payroll legislation
• Excellent English and very good Excel skills
• Experience with Financa5 or similar accounting software
• Attention to detail, analytical thinking, ability to manage multiple deadlines, good communication and teamwork
