Compliance Specialist

About the role

The Compliance Specialist ensures that the bank’s activities adhere to Albanian legislation and international regulatory standards. You will evaluate legal changes, assess their impact, and guide the implementation of necessary measures.

Key responsibilities

• Inform relevant bank units about legislative changes affecting banking operations and provide implementation recommendations.
• Identify, document and assess compliance risk related to new products, business proposals, client relationships and other significant changes.
• Review and update bank policies, procedures and practices to align with current regulatory framework, proposing amendments where gaps are found.
• Conduct continuous monitoring across all bank units to detect compliance risks and suggest corrective actions.
• Maintain the register of conflict‑of‑interest cases and provide opinions in line with bank policies.
• Deliver compliance training to staff and act as the primary contact for compliance‑related queries.
• Prepare FATCA client reports for the IRS and monitor identification of US‑person clients according to FATCA requirements.

Required profile

• University degree in economics, law or a related field.
• Formal training in compliance or regulatory affairs.
• Strong communication, quantitative and analytical abilities.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively, meeting strict deadlines.

Required skills

• Knowledge of Albanian banking legislation and international regulatory standards (e.g., FATCA).
• Proficiency in preparing regulatory reports for tax authorities.
