Senior Accountant

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our international team in Tirana. The role will support the rapid expansion of our financial operations, ensure strict compliance with Albanian tax regulations, and help optimise cost structures for continued growth.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain daily ledger entries, general accounting records, supplier accounts, and manage accounts payable/receivable in line with local standards.
• Process monthly payroll, social and health insurance declarations, personal income tax filings, and handle expatriate visa compliance documentation.
• Prepare and submit VAT returns, corporate income tax, withholding taxes, and annual financial statements to the General Directorate of Taxes.
• Reconcile bank statements, monitor local and foreign currency flows, execute transfers, and control petty cash.
• Track administrative overhead, visa processing costs, procurement spend, and vendor invoices to enforce budget limits.
• Advise management on tax optimisation and corporate structuring for foreign‑owned businesses operating in Albania.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics.
• Approved Accountant (Kontabël i Miratuar) or progress toward IEKA certification preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of hands‑on accounting experience, preferably in foreign‑invested enterprises or multinational environments.
• Deep knowledge of Albanian tax portals, e‑invoicing (Fiskalizimi), National Accounting Standards (SKK) and IFRS.
• Professional proficiency in English and Albanian.
