Senior Accountant – Accounting & Tax Team

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join our Accounting & Tax team in Tirana. You will work independently on client engagements, ensure high‑quality compliance deliverables, and support junior colleagues in a professional services environment.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day accounting and tax compliance for a portfolio of local and international clients.
• Prepare and review bookkeeping entries, VAT books, payroll inputs, withholding tax, account reconciliations and monthly closing files.
• Draft financial statements, tax returns, management reports and supporting working papers in line with internal standards.
• Monitor client deadlines and guarantee timely submission of accounting, payroll and tax obligations.
• Research and resolve routine accounting and tax queries, escalating complex matters when necessary.
• Maintain strong client relationships and provide clear, professional support on daily accounting matters.
• Guide, review and mentor junior accountants and interns to ensure accuracy and proper documentation.
• Keep organized digital files while adhering to confidentiality and quality standards.

Required profile

• University degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in accounting, tax compliance or financial reporting; experience in a professional services firm is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of Albanian accounting, tax and payroll legislation.
• Proven ability to prepare financial statements and manage monthly closing procedures.
• Excellent command of English and strong analytical thinking.
• Attention to detail and ability to handle multiple deadlines.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel skills.
• Proficiency with accounting software such as Financa5.
