Lead Android Engineer – Remote (EMEA)

About the role

We are looking for a Lead Android Engineer to design and build high‑performance Android applications that connect to a decentralized cloud platform. The role is fully remote within EMEA time zones and requires strong architectural judgment and ownership of the mobile product lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop performant Android apps using Kotlin, following modern Android design principles.
• Architect scalable, maintainable mobile solutions with emphasis on performance, memory and battery efficiency.
• Integrate apps with distributed backend services, ensuring data synchronization, offline support and network resilience.
• Maintain code quality through testing, documentation and code reviews, and mentor junior team members.
• Own the full mobile lifecycle from development to Play Store deployment, collaborating with backend and infrastructure teams.

Required profile

• 5–6+ years of experience as a Senior or Lead Android Engineer.
• Strong expertise in Kotlin and Android SDK, with deep knowledge of Android performance optimization and lifecycle management.
• Proven experience with modern Android architectures such as MVVM and Clean Architecture.
• Ability to work in Agile/Scrum teams and influence technical direction.
