Data Analyst - AI Translation Quality

About the role

We are looking for a Data Analyst to join our AI translation team at OnTheGoSystems. You will work on improving AI‑generated translations by turning complex data into actionable insights. This role goes beyond reporting – you will define what to measure, investigate causes, and guide product decisions with evidence.

Key responsibilities

• Define and track metrics for translation quality, AI performance and user behavior.
• Detect trends, anomalies and quality issues across language pairs, models, customers and content types.
• Form hypotheses, gather data from SQL, NoSQL, logs, APIs and CSV files, test explanations and recommend next steps.
• Validate findings by reviewing translation samples and confirming genuine quality problems.
• Investigate root causes and propose practical improvements to AI models and workflows.
• Evaluate multilingual AI output for meaning, terminology, tone, formality, grammar and consistency.
• Use AI tools, dictionaries and external resources to analyse languages you do not speak, and involve linguistic experts when needed.
• Build repeatable reports, scripts and monitoring processes and communicate results to developers, product managers and linguists.

Required profile

• Strong analytical thinking, curiosity and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently, define investigative questions and turn open‑ended problems into structured analyses.
• Solid understanding of metrics, segmentation, distributions, correlations and causation.
• Fluent English and at least one additional European language, with the ability to assess translation quality.
• Clear written communication and skill in explaining analytical findings to non‑technical stakeholders.
