Accountant – Month‑End Close & Inventory Specialist

About the role

We are seeking an experienced accountant to own our month‑end close and manage the day‑to‑day accounting cycle. The role combines general ledger work with inventory management, requiring precision across both financial and stock records.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the month‑end close process and ensure timely delivery
• Prepare and post journal entries including accruals, prepaids, depreciation, and deferred revenue
• Reconcile bank, credit‑card and balance‑sheet accounts with supporting schedules
• Match the inventory system to the general ledger and investigate variances
• Maintain item costing, cost of goods sold, and deferred revenue schedules for multi‑year contracts
• Issue customer invoices, manage accounts‑receivable aging and collections
• Process vendor bills, match them to purchase orders and receipts, and run payments
• Maintain the chart of accounts and fixed‑asset register
• Prepare monthly reporting packages with variance commentary
• Support year‑end schedules and external accountants

Required profile

• 3‑6 years of full‑cycle accounting experience with ownership of month‑end close
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP, accruals, prepaids, deferred revenue and fixed assets
• Accounting degree or equivalent professional qualification
• Fluent written and spoken English
• Availability to work Monday‑Friday, 10:00‑18:00 Albanian time

Required skills

• Proficiency with accounting systems such as QuickBooks, Xero, NetSuite, Sage, Odoo or comparable ERP
• Hands‑on experience with inventory or ERP modules and their reconciliation to the general ledger
• Advanced Excel skills – pivot tables, XLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, SUMIFS and clean reconciliation workbooks
• Understanding of US GAAP and revenue recognition (ASC 606)
• Familiarity with Power Query or Power BI is a plus
