About the role

ECFASh, a micro‑credit financial institution, is seeking an Underwriting Specialist to evaluate loan applications, ensure compliance with credit policies, and support sustainable business growth. The role combines analytical rigor with independent decision‑making to protect the quality of the loan portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Review credit applications submitted by credit analysts, assessing financial and non‑financial risk factors.
• Evaluate guarantees, collateral, or guarantors according to institutional policies.
• Conduct on‑site visits to borrowers when additional risk information is needed.
• Approve applications within authorized limits and assist credit committee decisions.
• Document analysis, rationale, and recommendations in the system.
• Suggest risk mitigation measures and propose changes to loan structures.
• Monitor risk trends and identify factors affecting portfolio quality.
• Collaborate with sales and other departments to clarify cases and gather additional data.
• Prepare periodic underwriting reports and contribute to product development and credit‑scoring model improvement.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, Accounting or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in credit analysis, underwriting, or risk management, preferably in micro‑finance.
• At least 2 years of team‑leadership experience.
• Strong knowledge of financial analysis, regulatory requirements, credit policies and risk management.
• Excellent analytical, organizational and decision‑making abilities.
