Technical Cofounder – Staff/Principal Applied AI & Backend Engineer

About the role

Outhenta is building an AI‑powered technical hiring platform and is looking for a hands‑on technical cofounder to lead product development from the ground up. You will own the architecture, applied AI systems, backend infrastructure, security foundations, and the overall engineering roadmap while working closely with the founder.

Key responsibilities

• Define and own Outhenta’s technical architecture, infrastructure, and engineering standards.
• Build the initial production platform end‑to‑end, focusing on backend services and applied AI components.
• Design and implement systems for extracting, structuring, and verifying candidate evidence.
• Create adaptive AI interview generation, role‑definition workflows, and job‑specific work trials.
• Make pragmatic build‑versus‑buy decisions and integrate third‑party AI services where appropriate.
• Establish security, permissions, audit trails, and employer workspace controls.

Required profile

• Proven experience architecting and building large‑scale backend systems.
• Deep expertise in applied AI/ML technologies and their integration into production services.
• Strong track record of delivering end‑to‑end products in a startup or fast‑moving environment.
• Ability to work hands‑on, make pragmatic technical decisions, and collaborate closely with non‑technical founders.
