System Engineer – Virtualization & Infrastructure

About the role

We are seeking a System Engineer to join our international financial services organization in Durres. The role focuses on administering, maintaining and optimizing our virtualization, server, networking, storage and backup infrastructures while ensuring high availability and performance.

Key responsibilities

• Administer and optimize VMware ESXi virtualization environments.
• Manage Windows Server infrastructure and Active Directory services.
• Configure, monitor and troubleshoot routing and basic firewall components.
• Maintain storage systems, including RAID arrays and SAN environments.
• Support and monitor Linux‑based servers.
• Ensure reliability of backup solutions and related processes.
• Operate container platforms based on Docker and Kubernetes.
• Administer VoIP solutions such as Asterisk and Cisco telephony.
• Monitor system performance, availability, stability and security.
• Troubleshoot infrastructure issues across servers, networks, storage and virtualization.

Required profile

• 1‑8 years of experience in system administration and infrastructure management.
• Strong knowledge of VMware ESXi virtualization.
• Extensive experience with Windows Server and Active Directory.
• Proficiency in networking, routing and basic firewall administration.
• Experience with RAID and SAN storage technologies.
• Solid background in Linux system administration.
• Familiarity with backup solutions, Docker and Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of Asterisk and Cisco VoIP platforms.
• Italian language proficiency at B2 level and English at C1 level.
