Java Backend Developer (3-5 years) – Hybrid/Remote

About the role

We are seeking a Java Backend Developer with 3‑5 years of experience to design, develop and maintain scalable backend applications and microservices for an international financial services organization. The position combines hands‑on coding with collaboration across DevOps and cross‑functional teams.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain backend applications using Java 17+ and the Spring ecosystem.
• Build and manage RESTful Web APIs with Spring Boot and Spring MVC.
• Implement microservices‑based architectures for resilient, scalable solutions.
• Optimize data access and integration with PostgreSQL, Oracle or MySQL using Hibernate and JPA.
• Develop event‑driven solutions leveraging Kafka or RabbitMQ.
• Maintain build pipelines with Maven or Gradle and support CI/CD using Azure DevOps or Jenkins.
• Collaborate with DevOps teams for deployment and source control using Git.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years of Java backend development experience.
• Strong knowledge of Java 17 or higher and Spring Framework (Boot, MVC).
• Proficiency in designing REST APIs and microservices.
• Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL, Oracle, MySQL) and ORM tools (Hibernate, JPA).
• Familiarity with event‑driven architectures and messaging platforms (Kafka, RabbitMQ).
• Ability to work autonomously and solve complex technical issues.
• Italian B2 and English C1 language proficiency.
