Social Worker for Family Empowerment Project

About the role

The Social Worker will manage individual cases, providing support, counseling, care and protection to vulnerable children and families within the Family Empowerment project in Shkoder.

Key responsibilities

• Identify families meeting inclusion criteria and conduct comprehensive assessments of children’s socio‑family environment.
• Maintain accurate documentation and regularly update individual family files.
• Plan and deliver services and interventions through tailored action plans.
• Use the database system to record, manage and monitor case information.
• Coordinate services both inside and outside the centre and provide counseling to alleviate emotional burdens.
• Develop recreational and social activities for children and parents.
• Ensure periodic monitoring, re‑assessment and reporting of cases in line with child protection policies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Social Work; Master’s degree preferred.
• Registered social worker status according to national legislation is preferred.
• Minimum 2 years experience working with children and families in need.
• Good knowledge of children’s rights and social work methods.
• Understanding of gender issues, education, health and HIV/AIDS.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong communication skills.
