Project Coordinator – UNDP Albania (Tier 1 & 2)

About the role

The Project Coordinator will support the implementation of the UNDP‑Kunming Biodiversity Fund project “Albania’s Path to Strengthening Access and Benefit‑Sharing”. Reporting to the Environment and Climate Change Programme Specialist, the incumbent will ensure day‑to‑day coordination, monitoring and reporting of project activities in Tirana.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate daily project activities, monitor financial performance and ensure compliance with UNDP procurement, financial and HR rules.
• Facilitate collaboration with implementing partners, the Ministry of Environment and other stakeholders to deliver outputs on time.
• Prepare technical inputs, guidelines, terms of reference and procurement documentation.
• Produce narrative progress reports, donor reports and board submissions.
• Maintain the project risk register, oversee safeguards and quality assurance of deliverables.
• Supervise the Project Assistant and support knowledge management and communication products.

Required profile

• Proven experience in coordinating environmental or biodiversity projects, preferably within UN agencies or with government partners.
• Strong ability to monitor progress against results frameworks and manage implementation risks.
• Experience preparing technical documents, procurement specifications and high‑quality reports.
• Excellent communication skills to liaise with national authorities, donors and internal UNDP teams.
