Medical Laboratory Technician

About the role

The University of Medicine, Tirana seeks a full‑time Medical Laboratory Technician to work on‑site in Tirana. The technician will support diagnostic services, teaching, and research by performing routine and specialized laboratory tests on patient specimens.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and process patient samples according to established protocols.
• Operate, calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment.
• Record, analyze, and report test results to medical and academic staff.
• Assist with quality control procedures to ensure accuracy and regulatory compliance.
• Document procedures accurately and support teaching and research activities.
• Collaborate with faculty, students, and clinical partners to deliver reliable diagnostic services.

Required profile

• Strong foundation in medical technology and laboratory medicine.
• Relevant vocational or university‑level education in medical laboratory technology or a related health‑sciences field.
• Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and ability to follow written and verbal instructions precisely.
• Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
• Previous experience in a clinical or academic laboratory is an advantage.
