Hotel General Manager

About the role

The Hotel General Manager will lead daily operations, coordinate all departments and ensure an outstanding guest experience across the property.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee and supervise daily hotel operations, ensuring compliance with established standards.
• Coordinate core departments such as Front Office, Housekeeping, Food & Beverage, Maintenance, Sales and HR.
• Monitor service quality at every guest touch‑point and handle guest complaints professionally.
• Control room occupancy, pricing, revenue and daily performance metrics.
• Manage the operational budget, control costs and optimise expenses.
• Track key performance indicators including occupancy, revenue, costs, guest satisfaction and staff productivity.
• Recruit, train, orient and motivate managerial and operational staff while enforcing discipline and ethical work practices.
• Develop and implement standard operating procedures for all hotel departments.
• Collaborate with suppliers, partners and third‑party vendors to ensure smooth operations.
• Ensure compliance with safety, hygiene and legal standards and report operational and financial performance to senior management.

Required profile

• University degree in Hotel Management, Tourism, Business, Economics or a related field.
• Previous senior management experience in hospitality, preferably as General Manager, Operations Manager or Hotel Manager.
• Strong leadership, organisational and decision‑making abilities.
• Proven experience in staff management and building effective teams.
• Ability to work under pressure and resolve operational issues in real time.
• Solid knowledge of financial management, budgeting, cost control and revenue optimisation.
• High focus on service quality and guest satisfaction.
• Excellent command of English; additional languages are a plus.
