Group Head of Accounting

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Group Head of Accounting to lead the accounting function for a large portfolio of international companies. This senior leadership role combines strong technical accounting expertise with team management, process ownership and quality control.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop the Accounting team, including Senior Accountants and Bookkeepers.
• Own month‑end and year‑end closing processes across a multi‑entity portfolio.
• Set accounting standards, review procedures, closing calendars and deadlines.
• Provide final sign‑off on financial statements before management review.
• Ensure reconciliations, working papers and supporting documentation are complete and properly maintained.
• Build strong controls, checklists and review processes to ensure consistent quality.
• Work closely with external auditors, accountants and tax advisers in multiple jurisdictions.

Required profile

• 8–10+ years of accounting or audit experience, with at least 4–5 years leading an accounting team.
• Proven experience managing accounting across multiple entities in an international group.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge, including IFRS.
• Ability to manage deadlines, prioritize work and follow up until completion.
• Fluent English and strong Excel/Google Sheets skills.
