Cyber Security Specialist

About the role

The Cyber Security Specialist will deliver the Vodafone security baseline, implement internal security projects, conduct regular vulnerability scans, perform security testing and manage security risks. The role supports IT and network teams with operational security tasks and contributes to threat detection analytics.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and enforce Vodafone security policies and a cybersecurity monitoring framework.
• Manage day‑to‑day security operations, including change requests, incident reviews and security reporting.
• Collect and analyse data on cyber‑risk, attacks and breaches, and investigate security incidents.
• Deliver internal cyber security projects while ensuring compliance with KPI/KRIs.
• Perform routine security administration activities such as scanning, testing and documentation control.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Engineering or related field.
• At least two years of operational experience in cyber security, IT or networking.
• Familiarity with telecom systems, networks, protocols and processes.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CEH, CISM) are a plus.

Required skills

• UNIX/Linux and Windows systems administration.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (Azure, GCP, AWS).
• Experience with Enterprise AV/HIDS, IDPS, WAF and vulnerability scanning tools.
• Scripting languages and PowerShell.
• Understanding of networking concepts, core switching/routing, SSL/IPSec, SAN fabric and virtualization.
