Chief Legal Officer – Financial Institution

About the role

The Chief Legal Officer will lead the legal function of USECFA sh.a, a financial institution offering payday, consumer, and micro‑finance services in emerging markets. Reporting to the Board and senior management, the role ensures that all activities comply with applicable legislation and protects the company’s legal interests.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and ensure compliance with current Albanian and international financial regulations.
• Provide daily legal advice to management and all departments, including product development, marketing, and HR.
• Draft, negotiate, and review contracts, commercial agreements, shareholder resolutions, and other legal documents.
• Support litigation matters and represent the institution in legal proceedings.
• Advise on corporate governance, maintain policies and procedures, and keep all statutory registers up to date.
• Review marketing materials and promotional campaigns for legal compliance.

Required profile

• Law degree with a valid license to practice in Albania or equivalent jurisdiction.
• Extensive experience in banking, finance, or micro‑finance legal environments, preferably at a senior level.
• Proven track record in contract negotiation, regulatory compliance, and corporate governance.
• Strong analytical abilities and the capacity to interpret complex legislation.
