Migration and Protection Internship – Tirana

About the role

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) offers a structured internship in its Tirana Country Office. The placement provides practical exposure to migration, asylum, protection, diaspora engagement and migration‑governance activities while supporting research, documentation and administrative tasks.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in gathering and analysing data on migration trends and asylum procedures.
• Prepare briefing notes, reports and documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
• Support coordination of diaspora‑related initiatives and events.
• Contribute to the development of policy briefs and communication materials.
• Provide general administrative support to the Country Office team.

Required profile

• Enrolled in the final year of a Bachelor’s programme or graduated within the last 12 months.
• Age between 20 and 36 years.
• Strong interest in migration, humanitarian protection or related fields.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multicultural team.

Required skills

• No specific technical skills required; willingness to learn on the job.
