Tax Analyst – VAT

About the role

We are looking for a VAT Analyst to join Remote’s Finance team on a 12‑month fixed‑term contract. The role will support the company’s global VAT obligations across EMEA and APAC, ensuring compliance and accurate reporting while working fully remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and submit VAT returns and related reports for multiple jurisdictions.
• Collaborate with external tax advisors to meet Remote’s VAT obligations.
• Reconcile VAT accounts, analyse discrepancies and correct ERP data.
• Liaise with accounts payable, accounts receivable and the broader accounting team to review transactions.
• Analyse invoices for correct tax treatment and request adjustments when needed.
• Manage e‑invoicing compliance across EMEA/APAC jurisdictions.
• Assist with VAT registrations and de‑registrations.

Required profile

• Experience in a tax department, preferably in a Big 4 environment.
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Tax, Accounting, Finance or related field; chartered qualifications (ACA, ACCA, CTA, CPA) are a plus.
• Strong analytical skills, high attention to detail and ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
• Fluent written and spoken English.
• Remote‑work experience is beneficial but not mandatory.

Required skills

• SAP (experience preferred but not mandatory).
