Scaffold Helper – Multiple Sites

About the role

The Scaffold Helper works alongside experienced scaffold builders to assemble, modify and dismantle temporary structures such as scaffolds, concrete forms, tunnel supports and frame shelters. The role is hands‑on, safety‑focused and performed on various construction sites.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in erecting and dismantling scaffolding according to drawings and company standards.
• Load, unload, sort and maintain scaffold components and related equipment.
• Set up hoisting gear, use ropes, harnesses and ladders to reach work areas.
• Bolt, screw and align scaffold sections using plumb bobs, levels and other instruments.
• Cut, trim or drill components with hand and power tools to achieve proper fit.
• Select and rig cables, pulleys, winches and other lifting gear based on load requirements.
• Support the fabrication and care of rigging items such as slings and tackle.
• Follow Yates safety procedures, report hazards and wear required PPE.

Required profile

• Level IV: minimum 36 months of heavy‑industrial scaffold experience (lower levels accepted with fewer months).
• At least one year of overall industrial experience.
• Ability to read and interpret sketches, blueprints and written instructions.
• Commitment to safety, Yates core values and code of conduct.

Required skills

• Use of hand tools and power tools.
• Rope, harness and ladder safety techniques.
• Plumb bob and level alignment.
• Cutting, trimming and drilling of metal components.
• Selection and operation of rigging equipment (cables, pulleys, winches).
