Programme Associate - Country Office Programme Unit

About the role

The Programme Associate works in the Country Office (CO) Programme Unit under the direct supervision of the Programme Specialist. The role supports the design, planning and management of the country programme through data management and programme implementation, and promotes a client-oriented approach consistent with UNDP rules and regulations. It also contributes to strategic partnerships, resource mobilization and knowledge sharing.

Key responsibilities

• Support the formulation and management of the country programme: collect and present research-based information, prepare reports, track results-based management tools and monitor management targets and performance indicators
• Support the Programme Unit: coordinate assigned portfolios, help draft project documents, budgets and workplans, manage project closures, and handle payment documentation, financial reports and audit support
• Guide implementing partners on routine project implementation and support project managers with donor reporting, quality assurance, risk management and monitoring
• Support resource mobilization: analyse donor profiles, review contribution agreements and track mobilized resources
• Facilitate knowledge sharing: share lessons learned and best practices, organize training for operations and project staff, and contribute to knowledge networks

Required profile

• Eligibility depends on the tier indicated in the vacancy title; the vacancy is open to Tier 1 and Tier 2 applicants
