About the role

Join BairesDev as a Google Cloud Platform Architect and lead AI‑driven mainframe modernization projects. You will transform legacy COBOL systems into modern Java, Go, or .NET applications on GCP while advising clients on the business impact of these migrations.

Key responsibilities

• Architect and drive application modernization initiatives, re‑architecting legacy and mainframe‑class systems for GCP.
• Design and implement data architecture solutions on GCP, including BigQuery and analytics pipelines.
• Communicate with client stakeholders to convey the criticality of legacy systems and the benefits of modernization.
• Collaborate with distributed engineering teams within a fully GCP‑based environment.

Required profile

• 8+ years of experience in cloud architecture with Google Cloud Platform.
• Proven track record in application modernization, converting legacy or mainframe systems to Java, Go, or .NET on cloud platforms.
• Strong background in data architecture on GCP, especially BigQuery and pipeline design.
• Consulting or professional services experience with client‑facing project delivery.
• Experience with AI engineering practices such as harness engineering or spec‑driven design.
• Excellent English communication skills.
