Assistant Country Controller (Fixed Term)

About the role

Wolt is looking for an Assistant Country Controller to support its local accounting and audit efforts in Albania and Kosovo. The role sits with the local operations teams but works directly with the central Finance team in Helsinki. It is a fixed-term contract of 1 year, covering maternity leave, based in Tirana.

Key responsibilities

• Support the country controller with all aspects of Wolt Albania and Kosovo accounting, including accurate and timely monthly reporting, annual financial statements and other statutory reporting.
• Maintain a fully reconciled financial position in the countries covered.
• Lead the delivery of local and global finance initiatives, financial process implementation and compliance with global policies.
• Maintain relationships with local auditors, authorities and other teams, locally and internationally.
• Work closely with the R2R team (GL accountants, AP, AR specialists) on daily tasks.
• Help local teams with accounting enquiries such as payment follow-ups, explanations of reports to restaurant partners, debt reconciliations and vendor communications.
• Take initiative to improve scalable local accounting processes and support ad hoc tasks.

Required profile

• Degree in accounting or CPA / ACCA, or equivalent experience.
• Solid background in bookkeeping or accounting, preferably from a multinational company.
• Experience with local statutory accounting and tax compliance.
• Experience with IFRS.
• Fluent Albanian and English, spoken and written.
• Comfortable with both hands-on daily tasks and bigger projects and roadmaps.

Required skills

• Excellent MS Excel skills.
• Prior NetSuite experience is an advantage.
• Autonomous problem-solving in a fast-paced environment.
