Senior Driver and Logistics Clerk

About the role

UNDP Albania is reorganising its structure to improve efficiency while keeping the capacity needed for programme delivery, oversight, communications and partnerships. This position supports Albania in achieving the 2030 Agenda by working with stakeholders to find country-specific solutions that reduce poverty. The role combines reliable, secure driving services with general administrative and logistical support for the office.

Key responsibilities

• Drive office vehicles for the Resident Representative, high-ranking officials, visitors and staff, and facilitate VIP missions
• Deliver and collect mail, documents and other items to and from government offices, embassies, commercial establishments and UN offices
• Meet visitors at the airport and assist with visa and customs formalities when required
• Ensure vehicles comply with UN security standards, keep accurate daily logs and complete daily trip tickets for billing
• Maintain vehicles, arrange repairs, oil changes and tire checks, and register and licence diplomatic and official vehicles
• Maintain the office archive, support disposal of old files and general maintenance of office spaces
• Operate the office generator, move furniture and equipment, perform small electrical repairs and help distribute goods and supplies

Required profile

• Secondary education and a valid driver's licence; minimum 3 years of relevant experience as a driver with a clean driving record
• Sound knowledge of local driving rules and regulations
• Fluency in Albanian and fair knowledge of English
• Experience driving for UN agencies or other international organisations is desired; good familiarity with Tirana and other major cities in Albania is desired
• Previous experience delivering and collecting mail and in office logistics support is desired

Required skills

• Good familiarity with minor vehicle repairs
• Knowledge of Windows-based computer systems (MS Office, etc.) is an advantage
• A higher-level driving licence (e.g. Type D) is highly desired
