Production Director

About the role

The Production Director is responsible for overseeing all operational aspects of manufacturing, ensuring that products are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. This senior role leads the production team, coordinates cross‑functional departments, and drives continuous improvement across the plant.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the end‑to‑end production process, from order receipt to final product delivery.
• Build, hire, train, mentor and evaluate a high‑performance production team.
• Plan and allocate resources (people, equipment, time, finances) to meet production schedules.
• Develop daily operational plans and integrate activities with engineering, procurement, logistics, IT, sales, marketing and finance.
• Monitor production efficiency, productivity, quality, cost and profitability, ensuring targets are met or exceeded.
• Identify process improvement opportunities, implement strategies to optimise workflow, reduce costs and increase operational efficiency.
• Prepare production reports covering safety, quality, financial and performance metrics.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations, industry standards and ISO quality management systems.
• Collaborate with procurement to provide technical specifications and delivery forecasts for new products or solutions.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading large production teams and managing complex manufacturing operations.
• Strong ability to plan, organise and allocate resources effectively.
• Excellent analytical skills to monitor key performance indicators and drive continuous improvement.
• Solid understanding of safety, quality and regulatory compliance, including ISO standards.
• Effective communication and coordination skills across multiple departments.
