Director of Operations

About the role

The Director of Operations will lead the daily operational management of a hotel, ensuring seamless coordination across all departments and delivering an outstanding guest experience.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee day‑to‑day hotel operations and ensure compliance with established standards.
• Coordinate core departments including Front Office, Housekeeping, Food & Beverage, Maintenance, Sales and HR.
• Monitor room occupancy, pricing, revenue, and daily performance metrics.
• Manage the operational budget, control costs and drive expense optimisation.
• Lead regular operational meetings with department heads to track tasks, issues and objectives.
• Handle guest complaints professionally and implement corrective actions.
• Recruit, train, orient and motivate managerial and operational staff.
• Ensure adherence to safety, hygiene and legal standards, and maintain inventory and supplier relationships.

Required profile

• University degree in Hospitality Management, Tourism, Business, Economics or a related field.
• Previous senior management experience in hotels (e.g., General Manager, Operations Manager).
• Strong leadership, organisational and decision‑making abilities.
• Proven experience in staff management and building effective teams.
• Ability to work under pressure and resolve real‑time operational issues.
• Solid understanding of financial management, budgeting, cost control and revenue generation.
• High focus on service quality and guest satisfaction.
• Excellent command of English; additional languages are a plus.
