About the role

The Procurement Specialist is responsible for planning, organizing and managing the procurement of materials, electronic components and services required for factory operations. The role ensures timely supply with appropriate quality and cost, while coordinating closely with production, planning, engineering, quality, warehouse, finance and logistics teams.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and manage purchasing needs for materials, electronic components and consumables in collaboration with production and planning departments.
• Identify, evaluate and qualify new suppliers, and maintain relationships with existing ones, ensuring compliance with quality, cost, capacity and delivery requirements.
• Conduct periodic supplier performance assessments based on product quality, delivery timeliness, documentation accuracy and responsiveness.
• Negotiate prices, delivery terms, payment conditions and other contractual elements, and manage the full purchase order cycle from creation to receipt.
• Monitor stock levels, production needs and ERP/MRP data to prevent shortages and production interruptions.
• Identify cost‑optimization opportunities, manage supply risks for critical components, and develop alternative sourcing strategies.
• Support new product development by ensuring timely availability of prototype materials and coordinating with engineering for component approvals.
• Prepare and follow import/export documentation, coordinate customs clearance and transport, and ensure compliance with legal and company policies.

Required profile

• University degree in Electronic Engineering or a related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in procurement, purchasing or supply‑chain roles, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Proven experience negotiating with local and international suppliers and managing import/export procedures.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills, with fluency in English (Italian is a plus).

Required skills

• Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems, specifically Odoo.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Solid knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
