Staff Software Engineer – Go

About the role

Block Labs is building high‑scale, production‑grade platforms at the intersection of Web3, AI, and iGaming. As a Staff Software Engineer you will own the design and delivery of distributed, transactional backend services written in Go, supporting real‑time, multi‑tenant workloads across crypto, fintech, and real‑money gaming.

Key responsibilities

• Translate business outcomes and constraints into scoped, sequenced, shippable work.
• Design, implement, and operate high‑volume Go services that handle balances, payments, and player‑facing decisions.
• Define architectural and implementation decisions, set testing harnesses and guardrails, and ensure correctness guarantees.
• Run the end‑to‑end production system, monitor failure modes, and resolve issues in real time.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, infrastructure, and QA teams without a dedicated coordinator.

Required profile

• Deep proficiency in Go, especially for high‑volume, transactional systems.
• Strong experience building distributed backend services.
• Ability to make architectural decisions and own systems from design through production.
• Comfort with operational ownership, testing, and monitoring of critical services.
