Senior Driver and Logistics Clerk

About the role

UNDP Albania is reorganising its structure to improve efficiency while keeping the capacity needed for programme delivery, oversight, communications and partnerships. This position supports Albania in achieving the 2030 Agenda by working with stakeholders to find country-specific solutions that reduce poverty. The incumbent provides reliable and secure driving services and general administrative and logistical support to the office.

Key responsibilities

• Drive office vehicles for the Resident Representative, high-ranking officials, visitors and staff, and facilitate VIP missions
• Deliver and collect mail, documents and other items to and from government offices, embassies, commercial establishments and UN offices
• Meet visitors at the airport and assist with visa and customs formalities when required
• Ensure vehicles comply with UN security standards, maintain them according to a plan, keep daily logs and complete trip tickets for billing
• Register and licence diplomatic and official vehicles and keep vehicle documents and supplies in the car
• Maintain the office archive, support disposal of old files and general maintenance of office spaces
• Operate the office generator, move furniture and equipment, perform small electrical repairs and help distribute goods and supplies

Required profile

• Secondary education and a valid driver's licence; minimum 3 years of relevant experience as a driver with a clean driving record
• Sound knowledge of local driving rules and regulations
• Fluency in Albanian and fair knowledge of English
• Experience driving for UN agencies or other international organisations is desired; good familiarity with Tirana and other major cities in Albania is desired
• Previous experience delivering and collecting mail and in office logistics support is desired

Required skills

• Knowledge of Windows-based computer systems (MS Office, etc.) is an advantage
• A higher-level driving licence (e.g. Type D) is highly desired
• Minor vehicle repair skills are desired
