Senior Data Engineer (Azure)

About the role

Proxify is seeking a Senior Data Engineer with deep expertise in Microsoft Azure to join its growing remote network. The role is focused on building robust data pipelines, data warehouses, and reporting solutions for a global client base while operating within the CET time zone.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain end‑to‑end data pipelines using Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL Database and related Azure services.
• Implement complex data models, DAX measures and calculated columns to support Power BI reporting.
• Manage and optimise ETL workflows, ensuring high performance, data quality and consistency.
• Design and maintain dimensional data warehouses (star/snowflake schemas) and data lake structures.
• Collaborate with analysts, developers and stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Integrate data from diverse sources such as SQL databases, cloud storage, APIs and flat files.
• Enforce data governance, security and quality standards across the BI ecosystem.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in data engineering roles.
• Advanced SQL skills, including complex queries, performance tuning and stored procedures.
• Strong understanding of Azure technologies (Azure SQL Database, Azure Data Factory, etc.).
• Proven experience in ETL development, data integration and pipeline orchestration.
• Deep knowledge of data modelling principles and data‑warehouse architectures.
• Familiarity with data‑governance, data‑quality and data‑security best practices.
• Located within the CET timezone (±3 hours).
