Senior Data Engineer – AWS & Python

About the role

Proxify is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to design, build, and optimise cloud‑native data platforms for a global client base. You will work primarily with Amazon Web Services and Python to deliver robust ETL/ELT pipelines that power analytics, machine learning and business intelligence.

Key responsibilities

• Architect and maintain scalable data pipelines using Python, AWS Glue, Lambda, EMR and other native services.
• Design efficient data models (star, snowflake, data vault) for data lakes and warehouses such as Snowflake, Redshift or BigQuery.
• Optimise SQL queries and tune performance on large datasets.
• Implement infrastructure as code with Terraform or CloudFormation and integrate pipelines into CI/CD workflows.
• Set up data quality monitoring, logging, alerting and governance standards.

Required profile

• 5+ years of professional data‑engineering experience.
• Fluent English communication and ability to work in the CET time zone (±3 hours).
• Strong problem‑solving skills and a passion for cloud technologies.

• Python (Pandas, PySpark)
• AWS services: S3, Glue, Lambda, EMR, Kinesis/MSK, Redshift/Aurora
• Modern data warehouses: Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery, Azure Synapse
• SQL query writing and optimisation
• Docker and Kubernetes
• Terraform or CloudFormation
• Apache Airflow (nice‑to‑have)
• Kafka, Kinesis or Flink (nice‑to‑have)
