Senior Backend Engineer (Go)

About the role

Block Labs is building a multi‑tenant backend platform that transforms high‑volume player activity into engaging, personalised experiences. As a Senior Backend Engineer you will design and implement greenfield services that operate in real time, with a focus on resilience, low latency and trust.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop distributed backend services powering player engagement across a multi‑tenant architecture.
• Implement core platform features spanning engagement, personalisation and platform integrity.
• Consume and process high‑volume player activity streams, integrating with internal payments, game providers and third‑party tools.
• Collaborate with product, frontend, data and infrastructure teams to deliver reliable end‑to‑end systems.
• Contribute to architectural decisions and drive technical direction across services.
• Ensure scalability, fault‑tolerance and data integrity, especially for balance‑related operations.
• Maintain clean, testable, well‑documented Go code following industry best practices.

Required profile

• 6+ years of backend development experience, preferably on high‑throughput, real‑time or consumer‑facing systems.
• Strong proficiency in Go as the primary backend language.
• Deep understanding of distributed systems, multi‑tenant architectures and microservices.
• Experience working in cloud‑native environments.
• Commitment to software reliability, observability and security best practices.
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
