Programme Manager Arts Western Balkans

About the role

The Programme Manager will deliver impactful arts programmes that foster creativity, cultural exchange and sector growth across the Western Balkans. This role involves building strategic partnerships, managing programme delivery and promoting the UK arts and creative industries.

Key responsibilities

• Apply local arts sector insight to design and deliver high‑impact programmes and identify collaboration opportunities between UK and in‑country arts sectors.
• Provide specialist input to ensure relevant, high‑quality delivery while embedding EDI and anti‑racist practices.
• Support country arts portfolio planning, strategic alignment and use digital approaches to enhance impact and sustainability.
• Build and maintain strong relationships across arts and cultural sectors, strengthening networks and collaboration.
• Promote the UK arts and creative industries, showcase programme impact and the British Council’s value proposition.
• Manage finances, contracts, procurement, grants and reporting, delivering project plans and ensuring accountability for outcomes.

Required profile

• Degree or equivalent experience, with professional qualification or experience in project management.
• Knowledge of current trends and practices in at least one arts or creative industries sector within Albania.
• Understanding of national arts or creative industry projects; familiarity with UK and international arts trends is desirable.
• Written and verbal proficiency in Albanian and English (or another Western Balkans language).
