Operations Manager – Banking & Financial Services

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead and coordinate operational teams within the banking and financial services sector. The role focuses on ensuring that all operational activities are performed efficiently, accurately, and in line with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and banking standards. Fluency in German is required.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee and coordinate operational teams from both management and process perspectives.
• Monitor staff performance and ensure adherence to established financial and banking procedures.
• Guarantee that daily financial and banking operations are completed correctly and on schedule.
• Maintain compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and banking standards.
• Collaborate closely with Compliance, Risk, Finance, and Operations teams on process controls and operational risks.
• Identify operational weaknesses, process gaps, and potential compliance or financial risks, and drive corrective actions.
• Facilitate smooth workflows across departments and improve operational procedures for greater efficiency and standardisation.
• Support the rollout of new processes, systems, policies, and operational enhancements.
• Prepare regular management reports on operational performance, staff performance, process issues, risks, and corrective actions.
• Escalate significant operational, compliance, or financial issues to senior management as needed.

Required profile

• Proven experience in Operations Management, Team Management, Banking Operations, or Financial Services.
• Previous experience in Banking Compliance, Risk Management, or Financial Operations is highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of compliance requirements, internal controls, operational risk, and financial processes.
• Excellent analytical and organisational abilities with a focus on identifying process gaps and improvement opportunities.
• Fluent in German.
