Merchandise Manager – Retail Space Planning

About the role

The Merchandise Manager will ensure that all 14 Billa showrooms – both company‑owned and franchised – meet brand and operational standards. You will plan, coordinate and deliver showroom projects on time and within budget while supporting the overall retail strategy.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain A/B/C showroom packages, defining standards based on size, layout and product display.
• Set weekly and monthly priorities, deciding which showrooms need intervention and why.
• Approve improvements such as materials, panels, lighting, signage and related works.
• Coordinate closely with Operations, Sales, Procurement and Finance teams.
• Maintain a Project Tracker to monitor activities, costs, deadlines and status.
• Make final decisions balancing space, product display and budget constraints.
• Conduct monthly showroom performance reviews, audits, photographic documentation and issue identification.

Required profile

• University degree in Business Management, Retail Management, Marketing, Visual Merchandising or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years experience in Retail Space Planning, Visual Merchandising or Retail Network Management.
• Strong knowledge of space optimisation, planograms, A/B/C concept standardisation and category‑based display planning.
• Experience with AutoCAD, SketchUp or other design tools is an advantage.
• Proven ability to set strategic priorities and manage multiple projects effectively.
