Bookkeeper for General Contractor

About the role

We are looking for a detail‑oriented Bookkeeper to support the financial operations of a U.S.-based General Contractor. The role focuses on accounts payable, QuickBooks data entry, payment processing, lien waiver collection, and project budget tracking.

Key responsibilities

• Manage accounts payable and enter vendor/subcontractor bills in QuickBooks.
• Record bank charges and other financial transactions.
• Prepare monthly summaries of open bills for Project Manager review.
• Coordinate payment approvals with the Project Manager.
• Collect and organize lien waivers before issuing payments.
• Issue approved payments and update project budget spreadsheets monthly.
• Maintain organized financial documentation in Google Drive.
• Communicate with project managers, vendors, and subcontractors regarding invoices and payment documentation.
• Assist with general bookkeeping and financial administrative tasks as needed.

Required profile

• Previous experience in bookkeeping, accounts payable, or accounting support.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent organizational and time‑management skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Ability to work independently and meet recurring deadlines.
