Steward – Kitchen Operations

About the role

The Steward supports Marriott’s Food & Beverage operations by ensuring all kitchen and service areas are clean, organized, and fully stocked. This full‑time, onsite position is essential for maintaining the high standards of hygiene and efficiency expected in a hotel environment.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and maintain cleaning equipment such as dishwashers, hand‑wash stations, pot‑scrubbing stations, and trash compactors.
• Wash, disinfect, and sanitize dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen tools using a three‑compartment sink and appropriate chemicals.
• Receive deliveries, store perishables correctly, rotate stock, and ensure clean wares are stored in designated areas.
• Inspect, pull, and stack cleaned items; re‑scrub and re‑wash any items that do not meet standards.
• Break down bus tubs, empty trash cans, manage dumpster areas, and handle recycling and glass disposal.
• Clean and mop all assigned department areas, and maintain safety and security policies.

Required profile

• No high school diploma or GED required.
• No prior related work experience needed.
• No supervisory experience or specific licenses required.

Required skills

• Dishwashing machine operation.
• Use of sanitizing chemicals and three‑compartment sink procedures.
• Basic inventory handling and stock rotation.
• Physical stamina to lift up to 50 lb, stand for long periods, and perform repetitive motions.
