Senior Cost Estimation Engineer

About the role

FareBau Albania is looking for an experienced Cost Estimation Engineer who can prepare cost estimates and calculate costs for construction projects. The ideal candidate has strong analytical skills, solid technical and economic knowledge, and experience in price analysis, quantity take-offs and the preparation of technical and financial documentation.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare bills of quantities (BoQs) and cost estimates for construction projects.
• Calculate work quantities from technical drawings and project documentation.
• Analyse projects and check consistency between drawings, technical specifications and cost estimates.
• Prepare unit price analyses for work items, materials and labour.
• Update cost estimates in line with project changes and technical requirements.
• Collaborate with designers, site engineers and other departments to ensure data accuracy.
• Prepare preliminary cost estimates for new projects.
• Take part in preparing technical and financial documentation.
• Compare actual completed quantities with those in the cost estimates.
• Archive and manage project technical and financial documentation.

Required profile

• University degree in Civil Engineering.
• At least 5 years of experience preparing BoQs and cost estimates in the construction sector.
• Knowledge of construction legislation, technical standards, market analysis, cost monitoring and verification of payment statements.
• Excellent analytical, organisational and communication skills; able to work in a team and meet deadlines.
• Experience in civil, industrial or infrastructure projects is an advantage.

Required skills

• Reading technical drawings and preparing price analyses.
• Calculating quantities and using Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Specialised cost-estimation software.
