Principal Golang Engineer

About the role

A company building a next-generation digital commerce solution is looking for a highly experienced Golang Engineer to help build and scale its product. The ideal candidate combines strong software development skills with the ability to guide engineering teams, solve challenging technical problems and make important technology decisions. The role is full-time, with availability to start next week.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and implement backend solutions using Go and a microservices approach.
• Develop efficient APIs and integrations between internal and external systems.
• Identify performance bottlenecks and improve system stability.
• Help teams make informed decisions about software design and technology choices.
• Work with cloud infrastructure, databases and asynchronous messaging systems.
• Review technical solutions, support other developers and improve development workflows.
• Introduce tools and processes that increase code quality and development efficiency.

Required profile

• 12+ years of professional software development experience.
• 5+ years working extensively with Golang in production environments.
• Previous experience guiding technical initiatives involving multiple development teams.
• Strong analytical, communication and problem-solving abilities.

Required skills

• Distributed applications and service-oriented design.
• REST, gRPC, SQL and PostgreSQL.
• AWS, Docker and Kubernetes.
• Go concurrency, debugging, performance tuning and automated testing.
• Messaging systems, data synchronization and fault-tolerant applications.
• Nice to have: Apache Kafka and Java; Terraform, GitHub Actions and CI/CD automation; Redis, React or TypeScript; large-scale online retail or marketplace experience; AI-powered development tools.
