Micro Underwriting Senior Officer – Retail Risk Management

About the role

This position sits within the Retail Micro Risk Department (Retail Underwriting & Strategic Management) and focuses on underwriting micro credit applications referred by the Micro Account Manager. The officer assesses each individual limit for a micro client, identifies risk factors and applies bank and leasing policies and procedures, presents applications to the approval authorities and ensures the accuracy of the credit risk statement.

Key responsibilities

• Risk assessment of each micro client's limit, including approval criteria and credit exposure tools
• Cross-check financial analysis of each micro borrower, highlighting strengths and weaknesses
• Gather formal and informal information on borrowers and their related parties to support credit and risk assessment
• Ensure quality control of the credit approval process and the adequacy of supporting documents
• Check data quality in loan applications according to each product
• Analyse projections in depth, commenting on feasibility, debt-service ability and refinancing risk
• Prepare documentation for the Credit Committee approval process at all levels
• Maintain a good portfolio of micro borrowers when financial or lending criteria change after disbursement
• Follow regulations and adapt bank and leasing policies and reports to superiors
• Assist other teams with borrower and application data used in decisions, and act as an approval authority

Required profile

• University degree in Economic Sciences or a related field
• At least 5 years of credit experience in lending-financial institutions, including at least 1 year in credit analysis
• Good command of business English
