Legal Counsel – Legal Department

About the role

Banka Kredins is looking for a legal counsel to support its departments and other organisational units with legal advice and representation, protecting the bank's interests through legal opinions, advice and representation before courts and public administration bodies.

Key responsibilities

• Provide legal opinions on litigation, inheritance and succession matters, and on sales, loan and lease contracts
• Prepare legal reports for account files of legal entities, companies, associations, NGOs, political parties and trade unions
• Give legal advice to bank units and follow up court cases, representing the bank in court
• Handle enforcement orders against borrowers, service contracts and debtors' invoices (when assigned by the department head)
• Draft and revise contracts such as leases, services and supply agreements
• Reply to incoming letters, monitor publications in the official gazette and deliver training

Required profile

• Law degree and a master's degree
• Previous banking experience of more than 4 years
• Good knowledge of current legislation and very good English
• Training in various fields of jurisprudence

• Strong analytical skills and adaptability in a team
• Able to work independently and meet deadlines, including outside office hours
