Field Service Engineer – Energy Storage Systems

About the role

The Field Service Engineer will provide on‑site maintenance, commissioning and repair for utility‑scale Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) across Albania and Serbia. Working from home, you will travel up to 70% of the time to customer locations, ensuring equipment operates safely and reliably while delivering high‑quality customer service.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of BESS installations.
• Diagnose and fix electrical, mechanical, communication and cooling system faults using test equipment and diagnostic tools.
• Apply software and firmware updates to battery systems, power conversion systems (PCS) and site controllers.
• Inspect, service and maintain HVAC and cooling components associated with BESS.
• Replace defective field‑replaceable parts such as batteries, sensors, fans, pumps, filters and wiring.
• Commission new systems, conduct functional testing and return equipment to service.
• Complete detailed service reports, maintenance records and work documentation after each visit.
• Communicate findings and recommendations to customers and internal support teams.
• Follow electrical safety procedures, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and site‑specific safety requirements.
• Support emergency service calls and respond to outages within SLA limits.
• Maintain service vehicle inventory, tools, test equipment and spare parts.
• Escalate complex technical issues to engineering or technical support when needed.

Required profile

• Self‑motivated technician who works independently in outdoor environments.
• Comfortable diagnosing electrical, mechanical, cooling and software‑related issues.
• Willingness to travel extensively across Albania and Serbia and work in varying weather conditions.
• Strong commitment to safety, including adherence to LOTO procedures.
